Boulder 70.3, Escape from Alcatraz, Nashville Olympic

Peter Haenel – Escape from Alcatraz

Catching up on race results – and we’ve had some great ones!

Boomer Martin (from Louisiana) finished his first Olympic Tri in Nashville last weekend in a time of 3:11. Nice job, Boomer!

Ian Smith (from Colorado) raced the Boulder 70.3 in hot conditions and finished in a strong time of 6:06. Ian is preparing to race Ironman Florida later this fall with his father Frank! Nice job, Ian!

And last, but certainly not least, we had two athletes compete at the Escape from Alactraz Triathlon, one of the most iconic triathlon races in the world. The race features a tough open water swim of 1.5 miles in 50-plus degree water, an 18-mile bike on hilly San Francisco roads, and a brutal 8-mile run that includes a 400-step sand ladder. If you ever get a chance to do this race, definitely go for it! Peter Haenel (pictured) and Owen Smalley both escaped and with impressive results. Peter finished in 2:37 and Owen in 2:46. Going under 3 hours at this race is considered quite a strong result. Congratulations, guys!
