July in Phoenix means one thing to most triathletes and runners – head to Flagstaff! The Mountain Man Olympic and Sprint Triathlons were held up there this past weekend as was the Footprints for Hopi 10K trail run.
Not only did Joan McGue race at Mountain Man, but she got revved up and ready by competing in a 4-mile run on July 4th here in Phoenix. Morning temps were a toasty 90 degrees that day. Joan finished in 45:45 and took 2nd in her AG before heading up to Flagstaff to race the Mountain Man Sprint where she also stood on the podium, placing 2nd in her AG once again! Way to go, Joan!
