Metro Olympic Tri, New Orleans 70.3, Seville Sprint, Pat’s Run

Congratulations to everyone who raced at Pat’s Run this weekend! In addition to Pat’s Run, we had Marie Russell racing at New Orleans 70.3 and Thomas Taylor racing at the Metro Olympic Tri in San Jose. Both events were turned into duathlons due to water conditions.

In San Jose, Thomas Taylor had to deal with a one mile run, 40K bike and 10K run. He ran the opening mile in a pack-leading 4:56 (yes, that is a 4:56!) and followed that up with a 1:03 bike split. To finish out a great race he clocked a 34:29 10K to take 5th overall and 2nd in his AG.

Marie ran a perfectly paced long course duathlon. She finished in 5:41. The opening run was a 2 mile run. She ran it at 9:39/mile and followed that up with a pace of 9:19 for the ½ marathon. That is exactly how you evenly pace a long course du!

Closer to home, we had Russell VanBeber and Chris Duval blow the pipes out at the Seville Sprint Tri. Russell took 9th overall and 3rd in his AG with a time of 1:05 while Chris took a stellar 5th overall and 1st in his AG with a time of 1:00.

Great job to all!
