Masters National Swim Championships Spring 2012

We’d like to congratulate Patrick Brundage who swam at Masters Nationals in Greensboro, NC, over the weekend. He had a super meet, setting personal bests for six out of six events.

Just to give you an idea of how fast he was swimming (since most of us triathletes can identify with freestyle times), he clocked a 4:50.18 for 500 yards. That’s an average of 58 seconds per 100!

Here’s the spread: 400 IM – 1st – (within 1 second of the National Record), 100 IM – 2nd, 200 IM – 2nd , 500 Free – 2nd ,100 Fly – 5th .

For those of you who swim in my masters group or take lessons from me, you’ll be happy to hear that Patrick does the same awful drills in his lessons as you do in yours—equal opportunity torture for everyone! 🙂
